Finding of Mašovice under the hill Vysoký kámen

Behind this forest and the meadow was the perishing village of Mašovice, protected from the top by the hill with the name Vysoký kámen. We were all excited about the idea that we could step by step buy the whole small village and build a Buddhist settlement there. After consultation with Lama Ole in April 2017, we examined property-related relationships, agreed which of the objects we would like to buy first and launch massive fundraising. We contacted the owners of the real estate and the land (2 brothers who were solving theirs longtime conflicts) and began to build a closer relationship with them. A company made for us financial assessment of their real estate, based on which we offered them our proposal. But our offer was not high enough for them.

Lama’s decision

After a lot of meetings, phone calls, peripetias around a possible deal, and even the consultations with Lama Ole, we increased the amount offered. For one of the brothers it was still not enough. At the beginning of 2018, we stood almost before signing the purchase contract with the brothers when we found out that the surrounding agricultural land is being bought by one of the Prague based companies that was just newly set up with an unclear business intention. This company wanted to buy the land from the brothers, but without their real estate. Lama Ole, with whom we have all consulted, sent us an email with clear instructions to “let all the speculators speculate”,  to leave “the Mašovice project” and begin “… to look deeply and widely for a place with a great view in this powerful area”.
